Using a MEFG image field with a search module

Have installed and tested JA K2 Search Module and Filter for K2 with an MEFG image field. Both are creating check boxes for my image items extra field, but was hoping that Filter for K2 would have striped the "|img_name.png". Should I look to modify the php in jak2filter.php or do you have a mod for mefg that explodes the Name|name.png string and passes just the name to any filter module?

You should look to modify jak2filter, as it reads the extra field values from the database, MEFG does not affect this part of jak2filter.
