Hi Gerald,

Thanks for the detailed report.

I can already see what's causing it. It's a path-handling issue specific to background-image optimization on servers with open_basedir enabled; it doesn't affect the rest of the plugin.

Quick fix to clear the warnings right now: go to System → Plugins → System - JR Image Optimizer - Core Web Vitals tab, set "Background Images" to No, and Save.

Your regular images will keep being optimized (WebP, responsive sizing, lazy-loading, LCP) exactly as before, only CSS background images are skipped.

I'm already working on a proper fix and it'll go out in the next release. I'll follow up here as soon as it's available so you can switch the option back on.

Thanks for your patience, and for giving it a try!

Best,

Hi Gerald,I pushed out version 1.0.5 and it fixes what you ran into.
To grab it, go to your Downloads page and find the latest release; 1.0.5 should be there.

If you switched off the "Background Images" option earlier as a workaround, you can turn it back on once you've updated.
Have a look when you get a chance and let me know if anything still seems off, happy to dig in.
One small thing if you don't mind: once it's running nicely for you, a short review on the Joomla Extensions Directory ( JR Image Optimizer ) would be a big help. No pressure at all, but it genuinely makes a difference for a small project like this. Thanks either way, and thanks for flagging the bug in the first place.
